Join First Stage for a free Amplify Festival reading of The Barren Grounds at Indian Community School on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 7:00PM.
This new work follows Morgan and Eli, two Indigenous children in foster care who discover a portal to a world of endless winter. Together with their new friends in the land of Askí, they set out on an adventure to help bring back the birds of spring and save the world they’ve discovered.
Following the reading, audience members are invited to participate in a talkback with the artists to help support the continued development of the play.
